As a dynamic individual and a compassionate community leader, Juanita has a passion for people, and more specifically, immigrants. Juanita has over fifteen years of experience in highly trustworthy positions where she established and maintained relationships with organizations such as the Canada Revenue Agency, and Elections Canada. From 2006-2015, she served the constituents of the Hamilton East-Stoney Creek riding in the office of Federal Member of Parliament, Wayne Marston. Juanita has acquired extensive knowledge on the municipal, provincial, and federal political levels needed to affect social and economic changes. She brings all of this good experience to her position on the Board, her work as an RCIC, and as Vice-Chair of the Practice Management Education Committee. As the daughter of a Mexican and an Italian, Juanita tries really hard to practice her Spanish, French, and Italian and believes in the importance of Canada’s bilingualism. Juanita is an accomplished singer, pianist, organist and guitarist – she is the proud parent of her children: Risa, 28 and Jordan, 26 and she lives in Hamilton with her partner, Craig, and their four cats.
